Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the rose 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the were Umicore SA (EBR:), which rose 3.56% or 0.39 points to trade at 11.36 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC Groep NV (EBR:) added 2.64% or 1.76 points to end at 68.44 and UCB SA (EBR:) was up 2.04% or 3.60 points to 180.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:), which fell 0.16% or 0.04 points to trade at 24.78 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:) added 0.08% or 0.05 points to end at 59.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:) was up 0.09% or 0.05 points to 58.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.04% or 3.60 to 180.40.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 3.50 to $2,752.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.07% or 0.74 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.74 to trade at $73.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 104.09.
