Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the rose 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the were Galapagos NV (AS:), which rose 2.92% or 0.70 points to trade at 24.66 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:) added 2.68% or 3.75 points to end at 143.90 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:) was up 2.14% or 4.40 points to 210.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (EBR:), which fell 0.77% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.78 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:) declined 0.33% or 0.08 points to end at 24.20 and Argen-X (EBR:) was down 0.21% or 0.90 points to 427.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 31 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.39% or 9.40 to $2,389.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.58% or 0.46 to hit $78.18 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.47 to trade at $82.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.12.
