Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the were Solvay SA (EBR:), which rose 2.06% or 0.70 points to trade at 34.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (EBR:) added 1.72% or 3.60 points to end at 212.80 and Aedifica (EBR:) was up 1.42% or 0.85 points to 60.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:), which fell 3.07% or 4.35 points to trade at 137.15 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:) declined 1.63% or 1.38 points to end at 83.20 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:) was down 1.05% or 0.72 points to 67.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 1.05 to $2,460.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $81.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 103.73.
