Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the were Argen-X (EBR:), which rose 3.71% or 14.90 points to trade at 416.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:) added 3.16% or 0.74 points to end at 24.14 and UCB SA (EBR:) was up 0.81% or 1.15 points to 143.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR:), which fell 4.24% or 1.44 points to trade at 32.51 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:) declined 1.82% or 0.14 points to end at 7.54 and Umicore SA (EBR:) was down 1.81% or 0.25 points to 13.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.81% or 1.15 to 143.95.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.24% or 5.65 to $2,369.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.99 to hit $81.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 1.07 to trade at $84.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.83.
