Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the declined 3.29% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the were Melexis NV (EBR:), which fell 0.27% or 0.20 points to trade at 74.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:) fell 0.48% or 0.12 points to end at 24.64 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:) was down 1.23% or 0.80 points to 64.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:), which fell 5.16% or 7.90 points to trade at 145.35 at the close. Sofina (EBR:) declined 4.55% or 9.60 points to end at 201.20 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:) was down 4.24% or 1.08 points to 24.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 94 to 5 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.03% or 25.40 to $2,444.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $73.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.10 to trade at $76.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 102.50.
