Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 0.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were SLC Agricola SA (BVMF:), which rose 6.59% or 1.15 points to trade at 18.60 at the close. Meanwhile, CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:) added 5.01% or 0.26 points to end at 5.45 and Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) was up 4.92% or 1.61 points to 34.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:), which fell 3.48% or 0.36 points to trade at 9.98 at the close. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:) declined 2.96% or 0.08 points to end at 2.62 and Vibra Energia SA (BVMF:) was down 2.31% or 0.47 points to 20.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 489 to 482 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:) fell to all time lows; falling 3.48% or 0.36 to 9.98.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.78% to 26.28.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 2.00 to $2,341.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.27% or 1.85 to hit $83.39 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.67% or 1.52 to trade at $225.28 .
USD/BRL was up 1.02% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL rose 3.06% to 6.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.49.
