Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 0.77% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:), which rose 6.90% or 0.52 points to trade at 8.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacadao SA (BVMF:) added 6.63% or 0.60 points to end at 9.65 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:) was up 6.35% or 0.66 points to 11.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:), which fell 6.46% or 0.83 points to trade at 12.02 at the close. JBS SA (BVMF:) declined 4.88% or 1.60 points to end at 31.20 and BRF SA (BVMF:) was down 3.64% or 0.86 points to 22.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 509 to 428 and 228 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.49% to 28.78.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.31% or 30.55 to $2,363.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.06% or 0.88 to hit $83.69 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.65% or 3.75 to trade at $223.55 .
USD/BRL was down 2.03% to 5.56, while EUR/BRL fell 1.37% to 6.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 105.03.
