Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the added 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which rose 4.47% or 0.72 points to trade at 16.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:) added 3.61% or 0.48 points to end at 13.78 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (BVMF:) was up 3.53% or 0.79 points to 23.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypera SA (BVMF:), which fell 1.37% or 0.40 points to trade at 28.81 at the close. CTEEP Cia de Transmissao de Energia (BVMF:) declined 1.24% or 0.34 points to end at 27.18 and Alpargatas SA (BVMF:) was down 1.17% or 0.11 points to 9.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 639 to 305 and 57 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.87% to 24.03 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.68% or 40.05 to $2,419.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.05% or 0.86 to hit $82.96 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.80% or 1.95 to trade at $245.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.55% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL rose 0.84% to 5.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 104.16.
