Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the were Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:), which rose 9.17% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Automob Participações SA (BVMF:) added 6.06% or 0.02 points to end at 0.35 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:) was up 5.31% or 0.31 points to 6.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:), which fell 3.96% or 0.20 points to trade at 4.78 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:) declined 2.56% or 0.56 points to end at 21.35 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) was down 2.33% or 0.10 points to 4.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 437 and 51 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.60% to 30.78.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 17.34 to $2,664.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.98% or 0.72 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.49% or 1.55 to trade at $320.15 .
USD/BRL was down 0.13% to 6.11, while EUR/BRL fell 0.57% to 6.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 108.49.
