Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 1.42% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the were Vivara Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which rose 7.42% or 1.83 points to trade at 26.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:) added 6.48% or 0.94 points to end at 15.44 and B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:) was up 5.73% or 0.65 points to 12.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpargatas SA (BVMF:), which fell 4.12% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.37 at the close. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:) declined 3.83% or 0.41 points to end at 10.29 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:) was down 2.44% or 0.11 points to 4.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 470 to 461 and 54 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.69% to 31.91.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.50 to $2,468.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.01% or 0.77 to hit $76.96 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 5.05% or 12.38 to trade at $232.92 .
USD/BRL was down 0.70% to 5.51, while EUR/BRL fell 1.04% to 6.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.96.
