Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:), which rose 11.40% or 1.01 points to trade at 9.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:) added 10.29% or 0.14 points to end at 1.50 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:) was up 9.79% or 0.19 points to 2.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:), which fell 4.33% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.08 at the close. Hypera SA (BVMF:) declined 2.68% or 0.61 points to end at 22.11 and Braskem SA (BVMF:) was down 0.87% or 0.15 points to 17.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 459 and 50 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.40% to 35.15.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.80 to $2,747.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.09% or 2.15 to hit $71.64 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.15% or 2.80 to trade at $245.75 .
USD/BRL was down 1.36% to 5.79, while EUR/BRL rose 1.51% to 6.30.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 103.80.
