Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were SLC Agricola SA (BVMF:), which rose 2.11% or 0.40 points to trade at 19.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Energy of Minas Gerais Co Preferred (BVMF:) added 1.96% or 0.21 points to end at 10.93 and Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:) was up 1.77% or 0.33 points to 18.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:), which fell 7.94% or 0.27 points to trade at 3.13 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:) declined 4.82% or 0.69 points to end at 13.64 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) was down 3.77% or 0.16 points to 4.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 552 to 387 and 51 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.35% to 23.24.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.80% or 43.60 to $2,472.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.24% or 1.00 to hit $79.84 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.76% or 1.85 to trade at $244.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.28% to 5.43, while EUR/BRL fell 0.26% to 5.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 103.92.
