Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the were Telefonica Brasil SA (BVMF:), which rose 4.35% or 2.11 points to trade at 50.62 at the close. Meanwhile, WEG SA (BVMF:) added 4.22% or 2.14 points to end at 52.80 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:) was up 3.63% or 0.41 points to 11.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (BVMF:), which fell 4.11% or 1.80 points to trade at 42.01 at the close. Dexco SA (BVMF:) declined 3.97% or 0.29 points to end at 7.02 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:) was down 3.46% or 0.41 points to 11.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 543 to 431 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in WEG SA (BVMF:) rose to all time highs; rising 4.22% or 2.14 to 52.80.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.70% to 25.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.59% or 14.50 to $2,487.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.31% or 1.02 to hit $76.89 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 2.15 to trade at $227.05 .
USD/BRL was up 1.78% to 5.75, while EUR/BRL rose 1.12% to 6.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 104.20.
