The best performers of the session on the were Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:), which rose 9.56% or 1.74 points to trade at 19.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:) added 8.86% or 0.92 points to end at 11.30 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) was up 6.26% or 0.34 points to 5.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:), which fell 3.63% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.44 at the close. B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:) declined 3.01% or 0.33 points to end at 10.64 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:) was down 2.85% or 0.35 points to 11.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 477 to 471 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.26% or 0.34 to 5.77.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.57% to 37.40 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.85% or 78.35 to $2,671.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.33% or 0.82 to trade at $249.33 .
USD/BRL was down 1.28% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL fell 2.99% to 6.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.61% at 104.99.
