Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the lost 1.13% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:), which rose 4.49% or 0.27 points to trade at 6.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:) added 3.67% or 0.11 points to end at 3.11 and JBS SA (BVMF:) was up 0.74% or 0.24 points to 32.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which fell 6.45% or 0.69 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:) declined 6.34% or 0.09 points to end at 1.33 and Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:) was down 4.69% or 0.32 points to 6.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 531 to 406 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:) fell to all time lows; falling 4.69% or 0.32 to 6.50.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.27% to 31.04.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 9.65 to $2,625.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.39% or 0.29 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.31% or 0.78 to trade at $248.98 .
USD/BRL was up 0.98% to 5.59, while EUR/BRL rose 0.63% to 6.11.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 102.69.
