Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:), which rose 1.06% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) added 0.93% or 0.23 points to end at 25.08 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:) was up 0.89% or 0.15 points to 16.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:), which fell 12.20% or 0.75 points to trade at 5.40 at the close. Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:) declined 7.18% or 0.60 points to end at 7.76 and Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:) was down 6.52% or 0.43 points to 6.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 624 to 343 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:) fell to 3-years lows; down 7.18% or 0.60 to 7.76.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.69% to 30.26.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.59% or 15.69 to $2,681.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.23% or 0.91 to hit $73.34 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.09% or 0.28 to trade at $320.78 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.06% to 6.10, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 6.30.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 108.86.
