Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:), which rose 1.12% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Klabin Unt (BVMF:) fell 0.26% or 0.06 points to end at 23.31 and Santos Brasil Participacoes SA (BVMF:) was down 0.69% or 0.09 points to 12.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:), which fell 11.02% or 0.28 points to trade at 2.26 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) declined 10.55% or 0.46 points to end at 3.90 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:) was down 9.62% or 0.60 points to 5.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 688 to 284 and 22 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 6.55% to 33.52.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.82% or 50.09 to $2,706.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $70.05 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.61% or 1.96 to trade at $318.24 .
USD/BRL was up 0.63% to 5.99, while EUR/BRL rose 0.37% to 6.27.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 106.68.
