Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Embraer SA (BVMF:), which rose 1.41% or 0.57 points to trade at 41.02 at the close. Meanwhile, WEG SA (BVMF:) added 0.38% or 0.18 points to end at 47.23 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:) was up 0.17% or 0.07 points to 41.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:), which fell 9.32% or 1.15 points to trade at 11.19 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) declined 8.66% or 0.77 points to end at 8.12 and BRF SA (BVMF:) was down 7.88% or 1.78 points to 20.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 570 to 388 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Embraer SA (BVMF:) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.41% or 0.57 to 41.02. Shares in WEG SA (BVMF:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.38% or 0.18 to 47.23.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.52% to 24.68.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.53% or 13.10 to $2,446.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.69% or 0.56 to hit $80.88 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.06% or 2.57 to trade at $240.58 .
USD/BRL was up 1.71% to 5.58, while EUR/BRL rose 1.53% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 103.90.
