Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.50% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the were Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:), which rose 14.87% or 1.17 points to trade at 9.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Denison Mines Corp (TSX:) added 11.57% or 0.31 points to end at 2.99 and NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX:) was up 10.28% or 1.03 points to 11.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were K92 Mining Inc (TSX:), which fell 5.40% or 0.51 points to trade at 8.94 at the close. Celestica Inc. (TSX:) declined 4.68% or 3.94 points to end at 80.31 and Aritzia Inc (TSX:) was down 4.07% or 1.86 points to 43.79.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 571 to 366 and 111 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 11.97% to 10.15 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.41% or 10.95 to $2,689.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $70.60 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $74.44 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 0.73, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.45% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.36.
