Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:), which rose 4.62% or 0.35 points to trade at 7.93 at the close. Meanwhile, International Petroleum Corp (TSX:) added 4.41% or 0.73 points to end at 17.29 and First Majestic Silver Corp. (TSX:) was up 2.75% or 0.23 points to 8.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Parex Resources Inc (TSX:), which fell 2.42% or 0.30 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Winpak Ltd. (TSX:) declined 2.38% or 1.12 points to end at 45.91 and Primaris Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:) was down 2.19% or 0.36 points to 16.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 479 to 451 and 107 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 10.27% to 11.10.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 9.25 to $2,681.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.68% or 1.17 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.16 to trade at $74.72 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 0.74, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.10% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 101.36.
