The best performers of the session on the were Osisko Mining Corp (TSX:), which rose 3.59% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Eldorado Gold Corp (TSX:) added 3.33% or 0.74 points to end at 22.93 and Seabridge Gold Inc . (TSX:) was up 3.30% or 0.74 points to 23.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Celestica Inc. (TSX:), which fell 4.99% or 3.64 points to trade at 69.25 at the close. Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX:) declined 3.89% or 0.38 points to end at 9.39 and Kelt Exploration Ltd. (TSX:) was down 3.05% or 0.18 points to 5.72.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 561 to 372 and 108 ended unchanged.
Shares in Seabridge Gold Inc. (TSX:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.30% or 0.74 to 23.17.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 1.37% to 12.96.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.25 to $2,427.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.66% or 1.28 to hit $75.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.20 to trade at $79.08 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 0.72, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.20% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 104.34.
