Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Bausch Health Companies Inc (TSX:), which rose 3.00% or 0.24 points to trade at 8.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Laurentian Bank Of Canada (TSX:) added 2.36% or 0.61 points to end at 26.42 and Telus Corp (TSX:) was up 1.98% or 0.43 points to 22.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were First Quantum Minerals Ltd . (TSX:), which fell 13.79% or 2.34 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. Lundin Mining Corporation (TSX:) declined 12.52% or 1.75 points to end at 12.23 and Capstone Mining Corp (TSX:) was down 11.17% or 1.08 points to 8.59.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 708 to 272 and 72 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was up 3.46% to 10.76.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 4.15 to $2,523.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.27% or 3.14 to hit $70.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.77% or 3.70 to trade at $73.82 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 0.74, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.13% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 101.73.
