Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the rose 0.20%, while the index climbed 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:), which rose 2.72% or 0.84 points to trade at 31.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:) added 2.31% or 0.63 points to end at 27.87 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:) was up 1.96% or 1.17 points to 60.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:), which fell 5.98% or 2.93 points to trade at 46.08 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:) declined 2.17% or 4.90 points to end at 220.50 and Sanofi SA (EPA:) was down 1.82% or 1.73 points to 93.24.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA:) which rose 8.48% to 9.67, Ayvens SA (EPA:) which was up 7.65% to settle at 6.76 and Opmobility SE (EPA:) which gained 7.10% to close at 11.01.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) which was down 5.98% to 46.08 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA:) which lost 4.94% to settle at 82.70 and Atos SE (EPA:) which was unchanged 4.55% to 0.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 270 to 226 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.31% or 0.63 to 27.87.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 5.46 to $2,684.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.93% or 0.72 to hit $76.58 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.75 to trade at $80.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 109.25.
