Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the rose 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high, while the index added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:), which rose 1.93% or 0.49 points to trade at 25.82 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:) added 1.56% or 9.90 points to end at 644.50 and Danone SA (EPA:) was up 1.55% or 1.00 points to 65.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:), which fell 2.69% or 0.84 points to trade at 30.41 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:) declined 1.61% or 0.04 points to end at 2.57 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:) was down 1.29% or 1.10 points to 84.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:) which rose 3.37% to 5.22, Elis Services SA (EPA:) which was up 3.35% to settle at 19.13 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:) which gained 2.94% to close at 3.09.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:) which was down 8.49% to 5.81 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:) which unchanged 8.33% to settle at 0.00 and Sodexo SA (EPA:) which was down 7.83% to 73.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 243 to 237 and 102 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.76% or 20.19 to $2,667.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.88% or 0.65 to hit $74.21 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.67 to trade at $76.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 108.25.
