Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the added 0.69%, while the index added 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the were Societe Generale SA (EPA:), which rose 3.07% or 0.86 points to trade at 28.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:) added 3.06% or 2.18 points to end at 73.34 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:) was up 2.99% or 0.95 points to 32.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:), which fell 2.12% or 13.80 points to trade at 637.20 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:) declined 1.11% or 1.15 points to end at 102.80 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:) was down 1.03% or 1.60 points to 154.38.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:) which rose 6.19% to 7.65, Beneteau SA (EPA:) which was up 4.93% to settle at 8.94 and Valeo SA (EPA:) which gained 4.59% to close at 10.29.
The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:) which was down 4.59% to 11.65 in late trade, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:) which lost 4.41% to settle at 34.70 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:) which was down 2.12% to 637.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 283 to 206 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.07% or 0.86 to 28.72. Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.11% or 1.15 to 102.80.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.21% or 32.36 to $2,714.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.41% or 1.84 to hit $78.21 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.57 to trade at $81.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 109.00.
