Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the fell 0.49%, while the index lost 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the were Thales (EPA:), which rose 4.23% or 5.90 points to trade at 145.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:) added 3.68% or 1.12 points to end at 31.53 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:) was up 2.00% or 0.54 points to 27.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA:), which fell 4.52% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.45 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:) declined 4.32% or 1.12 points to end at 24.70 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) was down 4.18% or 2.10 points to 48.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (EPA:) which rose 7.17% to 18.24, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:) which was up 4.94% to settle at 206.20 and ID Logistics SAS (EPA:) which gained 4.85% to close at 389.00.
The worst performers were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:) which was down 5.10% to 4.95 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which lost 5.00% to settle at 12.35 and Alstom SA (EPA:) which was down 4.97% to 20.26 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 320 to 177 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vallourec (EPA:) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 7.17% or 1.22 to 18.24.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.77% or 20.49 to $2,685.89 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.12% or 0.83 to hit $73.42 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.83 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 108.91.
