Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the lost 1.22%, while the index lost 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the were Capgemini SE (EPA:), which rose 1.56% or 2.40 points to trade at 156.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:) added 1.49% or 2.05 points to end at 139.45 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:) was up 0.60% or 0.65 points to 108.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:), which fell 6.20% or 1.56 points to trade at 23.55 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:) declined 5.59% or 0.14 points to end at 2.45 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:) was down 3.02% or 7.50 points to 240.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:) which rose 9.57% to 2.00, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:) which was up 2.27% to settle at 153.10 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:) which gained 1.80% to close at 192.60.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:) which was down 6.75% to 82.25 in late trade, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:) which lost 6.20% to settle at 23.55 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:) which was down 6.03% to 2.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 159 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:) fell to all time lows; falling 6.03% or 0.17 to 2.68.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.71% or 45.39 to $2,607.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.71% or 1.21 to hit $69.37 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.63 to trade at $72.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 108.12.
