The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which fell 4.65% or 1.16 points to trade at 23.81 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.99% or 1.04 points to end at 33.94 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was down 1.91% or 0.28 points to 14.46.
The top performers on the MDAX were Scout24 AG (ETR:) which rose 0.92% to 71.25, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:) which was up 0.77% to settle at 117.20 and Encavis AG (ETR:) which gained 0.65% to close at 16.98.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:) which was down 8.03% to 29.34 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which lost 7.64% to settle at 38.93 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.07% to 4.18 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 0.80% to 25.18, Qiagen NV (ETR:) which was up 0.77% to settle at 39.13 and SAP SE (ETR:) which gained 0.76% to close at 181.06.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 6.03% to 59.20 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 3.84% to settle at 28.04 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.99% to 33.94 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 410 to 205 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.84% or 1.12 to 28.04.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.21% to 15.93.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.14% or 27.00 to $2,342.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.18% or 0.15 to hit $81.14 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.45.
