Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.02%, while the index added 0.34%, and the index declined 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the were Bayer AG NA (ETR:), which rose 3.89% or 1.09 points to trade at 28.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) added 3.23% or 0.47 points to end at 14.95 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:) was up 2.04% or 0.66 points to 32.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:), which fell 2.16% or 1.44 points to trade at 65.26 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) declined 1.66% or 2.00 points to end at 118.50 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) was down 1.57% or 8.20 points to 515.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which rose 4.05% to 2.44, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which was up 3.18% to settle at 5.91 and Lanxess AG (ETR:) which gained 3.08% to close at 25.13.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.89% to 87.50 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which lost 3.58% to settle at 11.59 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 2.47% to 59.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.88% to 6.07, PNE Wind AG (ETR:) which was up 2.10% to settle at 11.68 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.99% to close at 235.50.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.89% to 87.50 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which lost 4.88% to settle at 132.60 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 3.58% to 11.59 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 338 to 278 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.47% or 1.50 to 59.20.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 8.97% to 17.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 12.35 to $2,538.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.25 to trade at $72.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.09.
