Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the gained 0.29%, while the index added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the were Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:), which rose 3.70% or 174.85 points to trade at 4,898.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Company Ltd (NS:) added 2.42% or 84.10 points to end at 3,559.00 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) was up 2.24% or 39.50 points to 1,800.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tata Steel Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.29% or 1.98 points to trade at 151.95 at the close. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:) declined 1.26% or 20.60 points to end at 1,608.00 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:) was down 1.14% or 129.70 points to 11,220.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.46% to 3,560.00, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.53% to settle at 3,149.00 and ITC Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.42% to close at 505.95.
The worst performers were UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.51% to 11,216.50 in late trade, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.30% to settle at 152.00 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.21% to 1,608.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1663 to 811 and 15 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2495 rose and 1294 declined, while 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.24% or 39.50 to 1,800.80. Shares in ITC Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.42% or 7.10 to 505.95.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.80% to 13.30.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 4.65 to $2,545.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.57% or 0.42 to hit $73.59 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.46 to trade at $77.66 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.17% to 83.91, while EUR/INR rose 0.12% to 93.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 101.34.
