Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the gained 0.33% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the were Cipla Ltd. (NS:), which rose 2.48% or 40.10 points to trade at 1,658.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) added 2.01% or 141.90 points to end at 7,205.45 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) was up 1.90% or 52.40 points to 2,810.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tata Motors Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.08% or 12.15 points to trade at 1,109.50 at the close. HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:) declined 0.77% or 12.65 points to end at 1,625.90 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:) was down 0.72% or 11.80 points to 1,635.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.12% to 7,213.00, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.01% to settle at 2,813.20 and NTPC Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.71% to close at 417.00.
The worst performers were Tata Motors Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.95% to 1,109.00 in late trade, HDFC Bank Ltd (BO:) which lost 0.82% to settle at 1,625.10 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.59% to 3,023.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1412 to 1035 and 20 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2104 rose and 1663 declined, while 113 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.70% to 13.41.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 7.75 to $2,552.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $75.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $78.83 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.04% to 83.85, while EUR/INR fell 0.01% to 92.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 101.29.
