Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the rose 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the were OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:), which rose 8.26% or 206.00 points to trade at 2,700.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:) added 4.23% or 262.00 points to end at 6,450.00 and Energix (TASE:) was up 2.62% or 33.00 points to 1,294.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harel (TASE:), which fell 2.61% or 91.00 points to trade at 3,393.00 at the close. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:) declined 2.43% or 380.00 points to end at 15,250.00 and Ashtrom Group Ltd (TASE:) was down 2.12% or 103.00 points to 4,750.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 222 to 216 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.23% or 262.00 to 6,450.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.93% or 2.19 to $76.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.59% or 2.02 to hit $80.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 15.55 to trade at $2,467.45 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.58% to 3.76, while EUR/ILS rose 0.64% to 4.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 103.92.
