Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the were Leonardo SpA (BIT:), which rose 3.06% or 0.76 points to trade at 25.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (BIT:) added 2.96% or 0.01 points to end at 0.25 and Saipem SpA (BIT:) was up 2.57% or 0.06 points to 2.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DiaSorin SpA (BIT:), which fell 0.91% or 0.95 points to trade at 103.00 at the close. A2A SpA (BIT:) declined 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Hera (BIT:) was down 0.87% or 0.03 points to 3.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 279 to 236 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Saipem SpA (BIT:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.57% or 0.06 to 2.55.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.00% or 1.37 to $69.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.51% or 1.09 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.41% or 38.26 to trade at $2,756.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 106.23.
