Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the declined 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the were Iveco Group NV (BIT:), which rose 1.76% or 0.19 points to trade at 10.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (BIT:) added 1.20% or 0.04 points to end at 3.46 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:) was up 1.03% or 0.23 points to 22.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:), which fell 4.67% or 1.87 points to trade at 38.19 at the close. Telecom Italia (BIT:) declined 2.22% or 0.01 points to end at 0.22 and Italgas SpA (BIT:) was down 1.86% or 0.09 points to 4.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 268 to 208 and 45 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.10% or 0.08 to $80.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $85.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 1.75 to trade at $2,345.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.82.
