Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the lost 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the were Saipem SpA (BIT:), which rose 2.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT:) added 1.12% or 0.05 points to end at 4.86 and Recordati (BIT:) was up 0.45% or 0.22 points to 49.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris SA (BIT:), which fell 2.22% or 0.32 points to trade at 14.09 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:) declined 2.18% or 0.10 points to end at 4.44 and Ferrari NV (BIT:) was down 1.79% or 7.10 points to 389.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 304 to 187 and 40 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.27% or 0.22 to $80.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.09% or 0.08 to hit $84.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 18.00 to trade at $2,312.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 105.68.
