Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the declined 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the were ERG (BIT:), which rose 1.38% or 0.34 points to trade at 24.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Italgas SpA (BIT:) added 1.18% or 0.06 points to end at 5.14 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:) was up 0.73% or 0.75 points to 104.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (BIT:), which fell 4.54% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:) declined 4.20% or 0.41 points to end at 9.23 and STMicroelectronics (BIT:) was down 3.52% or 0.92 points to 25.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 283 to 190 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.52% or 0.92 to 25.18.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 4.35% or 2.99 to $65.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.80% or 2.73 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 8.00 to trade at $2,540.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
