Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the declined 1.19%.
The best performers of the session on the were STMicroelectronics (BIT:), which rose 0.43% or 0.11 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:) added 0.29% or 0.30 points to end at 103.50 and Stellantis NV (BIT:) was up 0.22% or 0.03 points to 12.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:), which fell 2.73% or 0.17 points to trade at 6.13 at the close. Nexi SpA (BIT:) declined 2.55% or 0.15 points to end at 5.59 and Eni SpA (BIT:) was down 2.41% or 0.32 points to 12.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 354 to 159 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eni SpA (BIT:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.41% or 0.32 to 12.78.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.11% or 1.49 to $69.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.43% or 1.06 to hit $72.85 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.54% or 14.29 to trade at $2,655.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 106.46.
