Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the declined 2.55% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the were Snam SpA (BIT:), which rose 2.43% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:) added 2.02% or 0.15 points to end at 7.67 and Italgas SpA (BIT:) was up 1.81% or 0.09 points to 4.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:), which fell 6.12% or 1.39 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:) declined 5.77% or 1.71 points to end at 27.86 and Saipem SpA (BIT:) was down 5.37% or 0.12 points to 2.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 439 to 119 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.77% or 1.71 to 27.86.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.15% or 2.40 to $73.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.78% or 2.21 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 2.10 to trade at $2,478.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.03% at 103.13.
