The best performers of the session on the were Advantest Corp. (TYO:), which rose 3.73% or 210.00 points to trade at 5,836.00 at the close. Meanwhile, CyberAgent Inc (TYO:) added 3.05% or 29.20 points to end at 985.30 and GS Yuasa Corp. (TYO:) was up 2.99% or 98.00 points to 3,375.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sapporo Holdings Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 3.05% or 173.00 points to trade at 5,501.00 at the close. Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (TYO:) declined 2.85% or 162.00 points to end at 5,531.00 and Keisei Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 2.77% or 147.00 points to 5,165.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1808 to 1753 and 302 ended unchanged.
Shares in GS Yuasa Corp. (TYO:) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.99% or 98.00 to 3,375.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 6.76% to 17.11.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.10% or 0.08 to $80.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.08% or 0.07 to hit $85.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 15.10 to trade at $2,357.80 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.06% to 158.18, while EUR/JPY fell 0.05% to 169.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 104.97.
