Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the gained 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the were Dentsu Inc. (TYO:), which rose 9.82% or 380.00 points to trade at 4,250.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (TYO:) added 7.36% or 332.00 points to end at 4,845.00 and M3 Inc (TYO:) was up 6.95% or 81.00 points to 1,246.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Keyence (TYO:), which fell 3.85% or 2,580.00 points to trade at 64,420.00 at the close. Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:) declined 2.37% or 201.00 points to end at 8,286.00 and LY Corp (TYO:) was down 2.36% or 9.10 points to 376.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2242 to 1439 and 200 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.87% to 45.28.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.25% or 0.19 to $77.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.19% or 0.15 to hit $79.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 15.40 to trade at $2,495.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.06% to 147.23, while EUR/JPY fell 0.07% to 162.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.41.
