(TYO:) added 3.33% or 211.00 points to end at 6,550.00 and Omron Cor (TYO:) was up 2.97% or 161.00 points to 5,591.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Komatsu Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 4.84% or 219.00 points to trade at 4,304.00 at the close. Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (TYO:) declined 3.71% or 136.00 points to end at 3,528.00 and Sojitz Corp. (TYO:) was down 3.70% or 138.00 points to 3,589.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2555 to 1091 and 200 ended unchanged.
Shares in Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TYO:) rose to all time highs; up 3.33% or 211.00 to 6,550.00.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.47% or 0.36 to $75.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.46% or 0.36 to hit $78.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 8.70 to trade at $2,434.20 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.58% to 154.90, while EUR/JPY rose 0.60% to 167.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 104.42.
