Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the added 1.60% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which rose 8.62% or 24.81 points to trade at 312.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:) added 7.88% or 24.41 points to end at 333.99 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:) was up 7.11% or 2.29 points to 34.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:), which fell 1.04% or 0.50 points to trade at 47.67 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:) declined 0.70% or 0.12 points to end at 16.91 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was down 0.69% or 0.41 points to 58.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 150 to 86 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:) rose to 3-years highs; up 7.88% or 24.41 to 333.99. Shares in Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.69% or 0.41 to 58.60.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.87% or 23.05 to $2,682.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.50% or 1.01 to hit $68.21 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.17% or 0.83 to trade at $71.95 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.28% to 20.24, while EUR/MXN rose 0.24% to 21.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 105.83.
