Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the added 2.35% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:), which rose 7.25% or 20.08 points to trade at 296.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) added 7.15% or 1.02 points to end at 15.28 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:) was up 6.01% or 2.67 points to 47.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:), which fell 1.54% or 0.19 points to trade at 12.13 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:) declined 1.12% or 6.39 points to end at 565.26 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 944.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 133 to 87 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.15% or 1.02 to 15.28. Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 944.95.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.12% or 29.60 to $2,682.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.66% or 1.17 to hit $71.54 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $74.46 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.16% to 19.34, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 100.04.
