Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which rose 3.63% or 1.61 points to trade at 45.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Becle SA (BMV:) added 1.75% or 0.55 points to end at 32.05 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:) was up 1.46% or 0.14 points to 9.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:), which fell 2.65% or 5.22 points to trade at 191.92 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:) declined 2.38% or 4.46 points to end at 182.73 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was down 1.95% or 1.25 points to 62.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 56 to 56 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 4.10 to $2,365.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.18 to hit $84.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.22 to trade at $87.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.34% to 18.10, while EUR/MXN fell 0.22% to 19.57.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.82.
