Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the declined 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which rose 5.54% or 3.62 points to trade at 69.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:) added 5.32% or 0.59 points to end at 11.68 and Becle SA (BMV:) was up 4.35% or 1.32 points to 31.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which fell 4.91% or 2.86 points to trade at 55.39 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) declined 3.87% or 4.91 points to end at 122.68 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:) was down 3.67% or 6.38 points to 167.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 116 to 107 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.91% or 2.86 to 55.39.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.16% or 52.25 to $2,363.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $78.35 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $82.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 18.44, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 20.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 104.15.
