Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:), which rose 2.91% or 4.68 points to trade at 165.51 at the close. Meanwhile, America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:) added 2.37% or 0.35 points to end at 15.11 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was up 1.92% or 0.85 points to 45.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which fell 6.38% or 27.95 points to trade at 410.10 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:) declined 3.98% or 5.62 points to end at 135.51 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:) was down 3.87% or 0.99 points to 24.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 142 to 106 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.29% or 7.74 to $2,662.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.16% or 0.82 to hit $69.89 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.54 to trade at $73.37 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.25% to 20.17, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 21.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.67.
