Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the fell 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which rose 4.31% or 2.57 points to trade at 62.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:) added 3.30% or 4.85 points to end at 151.77 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was up 2.64% or 0.28 points to 10.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:), which fell 7.16% or 18.46 points to trade at 239.50 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:) declined 5.99% or 0.63 points to end at 9.89 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:) was down 4.47% or 0.54 points to 11.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 161 to 83 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.47% or 34.90 to $2,334.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.82% or 0.67 to hit $80.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.61 to trade at $85.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.18% to 18.13, while EUR/MXN fell 1.40% to 19.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 105.46.
