Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:), which rose 7.38% or 11.55 points to trade at 168.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:) added 2.34% or 0.55 points to end at 24.06 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:) was up 2.06% or 1.16 points to 57.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Music Group NV (AS:), which fell 1.36% or 0.38 points to trade at 27.48 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:) declined 0.65% or 4.60 points to end at 703.20 and Shell PLC (AS:) was down 0.51% or 0.18 points to 33.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 74 to 27 and 8 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.21% or 0.17 to $82.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.21% or 0.18 to hit $86.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.60% or 37.30 to trade at $2,370.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 104.93.
