Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the rose 2.24%.
The best performers of the session on the were Universal Music Group NV (AS:), which rose 6.56% or 1.40 points to trade at 22.74 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:) added 5.57% or 0.81 points to end at 15.25 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:) was up 5.06% or 1.48 points to 30.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:), which rose 0.36% or 0.15 points to trade at 41.74 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:) added 0.67% or 0.36 points to end at 54.00 and ASM International NV (AS:) was up 0.80% or 4.40 points to 557.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 89 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.18% or 2.33 to $75.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.75% or 2.10 to hit $78.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.20 to trade at $2,434.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.00.
