Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the rose 0.55% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 3.56% or 0.19 points to trade at 5.52 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) added 2.46% or 0.08 points to end at 3.17 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:) was up 2.06% or 0.07 points to 3.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:), which fell 1.25% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.46 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:) declined 0.37% or 0.03 points to end at 8.02 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was down 0.37% or 0.02 points to 5.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 8 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.28% or 1.70 to $76.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.57% or 1.84 to hit $73.56 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.17% or 30.99 to trade at $2,671.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 109.09.
